He held private and commercial pilot licenses and flew a Cessna 172 from an airstrip on his farm in Dry Ridge.
A small private funeral has been planned for immediate family members. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington is handling the arrangements. Doug will be buried at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville.
In lieu of flowers or material objects, the family requests donations to Bluegrass Care Navigators (https://www.bgcarenav.org/give). Doug’s family is thankful for the wonderful care he received during hospice.
